This project was a conceptual design of a book written by Enrique Vila-Matas. The book is a fictional reconstruction of the conspiracy surrounding the Shandy secret society (taken from The Life and Opinions of Tristam Shandy by Laurence Sterne), which has among its protagonists Marcel Duchamp, Francis Scott Fitzgerald , Walter Benjamin, César Vallejo, Valery Larbaud, García Lorca, Savinio and Georgia O’Keefe. The main elements of the Shandy society include nomadism, art, sensuality, innovation, defiant nature, and lack of clear purpose. The concept of this project was based on these notions of the Shandy principles, and representing them in the book by assigning a certain editorial element to each principle. The intention was to recreate the Shandy experience, specifically for the reader and their personal copy of the book.
